Our new DJI Spark 06-23-2018

As some of you may know, Eric has become a licensed Commercial Drone pilot with the hopes that he will eventually be able to become a drone pilot for the state of California. The first drone that we purchased was a 'Toy' grade drone a Holy Stone 200. It was a great learning bed for Eric to figure out if he could control a drone. However, shortly after getting his Commercial Drone pilot's license, Eric identified a better grade of drone that would behave more like the drones that the State of California will be implementing. The drone selected, a DJI Spark, also uses the same control software, that the more expensive units will use as well. The first video is from some flight time that Eric did at a parking lot for a old building that was demolished.

The second flight video, is of a flight that Eric took the drone on over Lake Natoma.

Both of the locations are in the Rancho Cordova/Folsom areas.

A video about our trip to Morgan and Brian's wedding plus more

The video below is a recap of the trip we had to southern California to join Morgan and the entire Wraight clan and witness the beautiful wedding between Morgan and the man of her dreams Brian Burke. The video is less than 30 minutes long, so sit back, relax and enjoy!

Contrary to what the video says, we left on May 2nd, not April 2nd! :-)

Morgan and Brian's wedding 05-04-2018

The festivities for Morgan and Brian's wedding really got rolling last night, and as always any event that involves my family is low key, but always full of love and very enjoyable. Last night we attended the rehearsal dinner sponsored by Brian's parents.

This morning, we joined Morgan's dad Steve and many of the Wraight clan on a boat trip around the lake that surrounds the hotel that the bridal party is staying at. Always by his side, Grumpa Steve had Tyler as his first mate on this cruise!

After the boat trip, we returned to the motorhome and got ready for the wedding ceremony. The wedding was held at 'Leo Carrillo Ranch' which was a beautiful setting for the festivities.

Mission San Luis Rey 05-03-2018

When we are on trips to new areas, we always want to make the most of our new locations. We both also really enjoy checking out missions that date back to the days when California was actually a part of Mexico. This trip is no different! We were very lucky to be able to spend a couple hours checking out 'Mission San Luis Rey' here in the city of Oceanside.

One of the amazing thing about this mission is that during part of it's lifetime, it fell into disrepair due to neglect and looting. But, the decision was made to resurrect the mission to it's former glory.

The pictures pretty much speak for them selves. We love seeing old places like this. We can't wait to get back to the east coast and see artifacts of civil war era to explore more American history.

Guajome Regional Park 05-02-2018

Ok, Admittedly, we got a little behind in updating the blog, but lets do a little catching up. We established a base of operations at a regional park in Oceanside by the name of Guajome regional park. This park is part of the San Diego city parks system. This park had a lot of things going for it, not the least of which is the fact that they don't have any breed restrictions.

This was a great base of operations for us while we attended the festivities for Morgan and Brian's wedding. There is a great little lake here at the park that was very peaceful to enjoy.

The only draw back to this park/campground is that they do have rattle snakes. As you can see, one spent the night in front of one of our neighbors rigs here.

Safe travels all!
