Cleaning up the roof of the rig

Ever since we bought our 2003 Allegro Bus in September of 2010, there was a King Dome Satellite system. We were hoping that this satellite would be wonderful in providing our entertainment needs.

We quickly found out that the unit no longer worked and we were informed this was because the world had moved on from Analog to digital transmission signals. We left the unit in place because the unit other wise did not impact the comfortable living within our rig. We had considered at one point removing the unit, but time and opportunity had not really presented it self. That whole situation changed when we had a number of windy storms come through the winter of 2018-2019. During this winters windy storms, there were a number of branches that came down from the trees above and damaged the covers of the air conditioner units and the Satellite dome.

Knowing that we would go forward in our full timing adventure with the air conditioners, we knew we needed to replace the air conditioner covers. However the King satellite system was no longer usable, probably not worth spending the money on to replace the cover. So, we decided to remove the satellite system all together. So, with a removing all of the hardware, including nuts and bolts, left us with a system base, that was bolted and silicon sealed to a mounting plate on the roof. So, with removing everything but the base it's self, Eric slowly worked a 2" Spatula between the mounting plate and base, and within an hour or so, Eric had removed the Satellite base from the mounting plate.

The mounting plate will be left in place because once some lap sealant was placed over a couple of place on the mounting plate, it is still a water proof attachment to the roof. So now, the roof is all ready for the next adventures in our future!

Safe travels everyone!

Celebrating our girl Rosie and advocating for older dogs in your home

While living in Amador county, Eric got involved in walking dogs at the Amador county animal shelter every Sunday. As Carol and Eric started their full time living in an RV at 49er RV park in Plymouth, Eric was walking one scared little girl Rosie.

Eric and Carol adopted Rosie and over the first 8 years of her living in our home, she has grown more and more comfortable in our home. Eric just put together a little video celebrating our girl Rosie who we adopted from the Amador county animal shelter in early 2011. Hopefully this video shows that there are wonderful dogs out there who deserve rescuing and that even an 11 year old dog can lead a very full life.

Safe travels all!

LaWren Wagoner

Ever since Carol's first day working at Cal Fire, LaWren Wagoner had been working along side her as an exam analyst in the HR department. The ladies in the Exam unit have, for a number of years had an annual 'Girls Weekend out' trip to get away from it all and to see some place new. In 2015, when the ladies were on their trip to Las Vegas, LaWren was looking a little ill and went to a hospital. Doctors in Las Vegas performed some tests and were able to make LaWren feel a little better. However, Doctors let LaWren know that they were concerned and wanted her to see her regular doctor as soon as possible.

Upon her return home, LaWren found out shortly there after from her Doctors that she had pancreatic cancer and she immediately started treatment to fight it. The subsequent years LaWren returned to work and enjoyed life with her friends and family. One of the highlights was the ability for LaWren, along with her husband Walt, having the opportunity to witness her daughter Kamree marry the man of her dreams Kory Willhelm and start a life of their own.

All the while LaWren continued to wage her valiant battle against the pancreatic cancer. Despite the fight she was waging, LaWren made the most of her life including trips to see Kamree's new home in Louisiana and still get away with her co-workers including Carol, Tiffany and Dianna on their annual girls trips out of town.

Early in February, LaWren ended her long battle with Pancreatic cancer. LaWren's husband Walt passed away in 2018, and now, LaWren too is able to rest in peace.

We miss you LaWren, we love you and your family. We always have, and we always will.

Safe travels all!

Eric's 57th Birthday

Like many of us, Eric finds snow a beautiful thing to behold. And this years winter has been one that is close to something for the record books. Though at one point in time, we lived in an area that was full of snow, we have also come to the conclusion that snow is something that is nice to visit, but don't really want to live in. In our younger years, it was nice to occasionally break out the snow shovel and the snow blower, but those days are now long gone. Now, that we live in the Sacramento valley, we do like to visit the snow once in a while. So, for Eric's birthday, Carol took Eric, as well as Rosie and Charlie, on a day trip up highway 50 to check out the snow. Our first stop was in Placerville to have lunch. Then, we drove up past Bridal Veil Falls. We just enjoyed the meandering drive up US 50 until we got to the point where the snow fall was getting pretty heavy and just didn't feel like driving up the hill any further. On our way back, we then stopped in Pollock Pines at a Safeway Starbucks for a warm drink and to watch the snow fall pretty heavily. Deciding we better hit the road and get down out of the snow, we continued our drive towards home. In the early evening, Carol and Eric got to celebrate Eric's birthday with Katie at Cattleman's. As always, Eric truly enjoyed his birthday celebration, primarily because it included those most important to Eric in his life. Safe travels all! Eric and Carol Anderson
